History

Miles Capital was founded in 1982 with the launch of an Iowa-based money market fund. Within a few years, Investors Management Group (“IMG”) added advisory services, fund administration and fund services for local government investment pools (LGIPs). LGIP assets under management were $200 million in 1987, and have continued to be a core capability for Miles Capital. Today we manage or administer over $600 million for five programs in four states.

By 1998, IMG had grown to $1.8 billion in AUM and was purchased by Amcore Bank. Our clients then included insurance companies, municipalities and government agencies, foundations and endowments, bank portfolios and other financial service firms. In 2006, IMG merged with VMF Capital to become WB Capital Management, a subsidiary of West Bancorporation. Pension plans and consultant firms were added to our client list.

In 2009, David W. Miles, the former president and majority-owner of IMG, purchased the firm, and returned it to independence under the name Miles Capital. Our investment sophistication and depth have grown with client needs and our strategies continue to evolve. We pride ourselves on being a strong partner to our clients today and are committed to continuing to advance our offerings going forward.
