A financial adviser, entrepreneur and investor for more than twenty-five years, David Miles is the principal owner and Chief Executive Officer of Miles Capital, Inc., a registered investment advisory firm based in West Des Moines, Iowa, with nearly $4 billion in client assets under management. Founded in 1982, Miles Capital manages fixed income and equity portfolios for institutional and individual investors.

Mr. Miles’ experience includes 16 years with Investors Management Group (“IMG”), where, as president and controlling shareholder, he grew the firm’s assets to $1.8 billion before selling the firm to AMCORE Financial in 1998. On December 31, 2009, his professional interests came full circle when he closed on the acquisition of the former IMG (then called WB Capital).

Mr. Miles received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Master of Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and his B.A. from Drake University. He has extensive nonprofit board experience, and has long been an advocate for higher education. In August 2011 he was appointed to Board of Directors of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (“AGB”). He also served as the 16th president of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa from December 2007 to July 2011. Prior to his appointment to the Board of Regents, he served eleven years on the Drake University Board of Trustees, including three years as chair. Mr. Miles also serves on the board of directors of Northwest Financial Corporation.

Gregory D. Boal, President and Chief Investment Officer, is a proven business builder with more than 25 years of success in the asset management industry spanning institutional, mutual fund, and insurance areas. From 2003 through 2008 Greg was the President and Chief Investment Officer of AmerUs Capital Management, the asset management company of AmerUs Group. Aviva plc acquired AmerUs in 2006, and from 2008 to February 2010 Greg was the Chief Executive Officer of Aviva Investors North America, a $50 billion AUM division of Aviva Investors Global based in the UK. Prior to joining AmerUs, Greg served as Group Head & Managing Director — Global Quantitative Fixed Income, for Deutsche Bank Asset Management, Director of Fixed Income & Managing Director — Mutual Funds/Institutional Group and Director of Fixed Income for ABN AMRO Asset Management in Chicago.

Gregory received a Masters in Finance and B.S. in Broadcasting from the University of Wyoming. Throughout his career, Greg has maintained numerous professional affiliations and served on multiple boards. Board directorships have included the Salisbury House, Calvert Variable Series and Inflective Asset Management, LLC. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Investment Analyst Society of Iowa.
